With an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of lump lime and hydrated lime, Kurdistan Lime Factory exports nearly 40 percent of its products to neighboring countries, including Iraq and Armenia.

Last year, more than 70,000 tons of graded lime and 30,000 tons of hydrated lime were produced at this factory and supplied to the market. According to the Kurdistan branch of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting News Agency, in addition to meeting domestic demand, the factory’s products are also exported to Armenia and Iraq.

Engineer Niko Sokhan, the factory’s manager, stated that lime consumption in the country is on the rise and that this product is widely used as a primary and auxiliary material in many industries, including sanitary products, food industries, metal industries, and other sectors.

He noted that Kurdistan Cement Lime Factory produces two types of industrial lime—graded lime and hydrated lime—and added that in the past year, the factory produced over 70,000 tons of graded lime in various sizes and 30,000 tons of hydrated lime, which were supplied to the market.

According to him, the factory has created direct employment for 37 people and indirect employment for 110 others. With banking support and the allocation of financial resources, the production capacity of this factory can be further expanded.

Bijar Lime Factory began operations in 2012, and in 2015, its completion phase was finalized and officially inaugurated in the presence of the Cabinet of Ministers.
